Job Title: Lineman
Duties: Perform skilled work in the construction and maintenance of electric cable and powerline systems, and adhere to strict safety regulations.

Must have successfully completed approved Lineman Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience and training. Must successfully complete placement/performance exercises. Must have a valid Class A Commercial driver's license from state of residence.

Exposed to weather, traffic conditions and high voltage; subject to storm or emergency work and the normal hazards of construction work and physical activities such as climbing, walking, standing, bending, stooping, heavy lifting/pulling/pushing.

Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator
Duties: Provide excavation, hoisting and moving services by operating various types of cranes and other heavy equipment.

Must have successfully completed approved Heavy Equipment Operator Apprenticeship program or equivalent experience and training. Must successfully complete Physical Abilities Test. Must successfully complete Color Blind I test.  Must meet state vision requirements.  Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.  Must successfully obtain OSHA Crane Certification within one year after entering classification. Must obtain a valid Class A Commercial driver’s license with Tanker and Hazardous Material Endorsement (X) from state of residence within trial or Probationary period after entering classification.   Must successfully complete NIMS training within one (1) year of entering job.  Must successfully complete Placement (Group 012A “Equipment Operators”)/Performance Exercises.

Works outside with exposure to noise, mud, dust and fumes; subject to the hazards of rigging and operating heavy equipment and working around energized equipment, performing heavy lifting and climbing on/off equipment.  Subject to storm or emergency work.

Job Title: Electronics Communications Technician
Duties: Install, maintain, test and repair the Division’s two-way radio communication system, color video recording equipment and other diversified electronic equipment; locate electronic interference.  Operate infrared scanner to perform heat surveys of transmission/distribution/network systems and substations; locate and report equipment/ components over-heating such as transformers, switches and capacitor banks; recheck completed maintenance repairs. 

Associate degree in Electrical, Electronic or Telecommunication Engineering Technology.  Must successfully complete Color Blind 1 Test.  Must successfully complete Placement (Group 004 “Electronics Technicians”)/Performance Exercises. Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.      

Works in shop and outside.  Works in proximity of electrical equipment in substations and walk-in/ underground vaults.  Subject to medium lifting, climbing ladders, working with chemicals and standing for extended periods.  May work from bucket truck.

Job Title: Mechanic
Perform mechanical maintenance/repair work on Division vehicles and heavy equipment in shop and/or field.

Associate degree in Automotive Technology or related degree; or successfully completed Mechanic Apprenticeship program; or have four (4) current ASE/FPS certifications; or four (4) years experience in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of automotive vehicles, or medium duty trucks or heavy equipment. ASE certifications A1-Engine Repair, or T1-Gasoline Engines, or T2-Diesel Engines and A6-Electrical/Electronics Systems or T6-Electrical/Electronic Systems are required, and based on departmental needs the two (2) remaining certifications will be determined from an approved ASE/FPS list.  The approved ASE/FPS list includes: A1-A8; T1-T6, T8; F1; L1; and/or FPS certifications which include Mobile Hydraulic Mechanic, Hydraulic Technician and/or Application/Electronics Specialist. Must obtain a valid Class A Commercial driver’s license from state of residence within trial or probationary period after entering classification.  Must successfully complete Placement (Group 03C “Mechanics”)/Performance Exercises.  Must pass Color Blind I Test.  Must be able to differentiate sounds when making adjustments.

Works inside and outside.  Subject to hazards of operating machinery and irritation from oils, solvents, chemicals and fumes.  Make service calls in the field.  Performs heavy lifting.  Subject to climbing, standing/walking for extended periods, and working in uncomfortable positions.

Drug screening, with negative test results, is required prior to entry into this classification.  Must have successfully completed approved Maintenance Machinist Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience and training.  Must successfully complete Placement (Group 03A Mechanics”)/ Performance Exercises.  Must have valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Works inside and outside.  Subject to balancing, climbing/falling from ladders/high structures, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, reaching and standing for long periods of time while working on equipment, cuts/burns working with industrial machinery and heavy lifting.

Job Title: Computer Software Specialist 3
Apply advanced-level business and information technology system practices and/or project management methodology in analyzing information requirements to determine hardware/ software solutions; develop project plans; and implement, develop or maintain enterprise information systems to meet project deliverables.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or Business with a concentration in Information Systems or Math with a concentration in Computer Science or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 hours college accredited Information Technology or Information Systems courses. Must have at least six (6) years of experience and meet proficiency requirements.  Must have at least one (1) year of demonstrated experience as the primary support person for a particular system or application and at least demonstrated knowledge and skills in one (1) or more of the fields listed below.  Experience and knowledge requirements will vary according to area and departmental needs. Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Systems Programming: MQ-Series, Unix, LINUX, AppWorx and/or Apache Server.
System Engineer/Administrator: Novell Netware, Linux,
and/or Directory Services.
Networking: Network Infrastructure (firewalls, routers, switches, gateways, etc.), Cisco Networking, Network Security Systems,
and/or Network Design. Applicable certifications might include CNA, CNE, MCP, MCSE, CSSP, and CCIE.

Desktop Support: iManager, GroupWise, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Visio, TOAD, and/or Oracle SQL Developer
Database: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or MySQL databases and SQL, PL/SQL or other database scripting languages.
Web Development:  HTML, PERL, PHP, Python, Ruby, and/or Symphony.
Applications Programming:  C++, Delphi, ArcGIS Server, JTX Workflow Manager 9.3 or higher preferred, SQL, PL/SQL, Apex, JDeveloper, Oracle Forms, Oracle Applications R12 or higher, and/or Python.
Works inside under good conditions.  Subject to sitting for long periods of time at computer terminals, eye fatigue, grasping/reaching for technical manuals/printouts and distinguishing color, and occasional light lifting, bending, stooping/crouching to load computer equipment, paper and carry materials.
