Job Title: Lineman
Duties: Perform skilled work in the construction and maintenance of electric cable and powerline systems, and adhere to strict safety regulations.

Must have successfully completed approved Lineman Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience and training. Must successfully complete placement/performance exercises. Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License from state of residence.

Exposed to weather, traffic conditions and high voltage; subject to storm or emergency work and the normal hazards of construction work and physical activities such as climbing, walking, standing, bending, stooping, heavy lifting/pulling/pushing.

Job Title: Water Treatment Operator II

Duties: Inspect/service remote controlled pumping stations; record meter readings; replace chlorine, fluoride and phosphate and adjust chemical dosage as needed; operate pumping stations manually when needed; receive/unload chemicals; extract data from the Human-Machine Interface (HMI) to create reports; and service Backwash Monitoring Stations.

Must have successfully completed Placement (Group 03A “Mechanics”)/Performance Exercises and Physical Abilities Test, Level IV (Gen IV). Must have Tennessee Grade IV Water Treatment Operator’s License. Must successfully complete NIMS Training within one year of entering job. Must successfully complete Hazardous Waste Operator training within one year of entering job. Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Works inside/outside pumping stations under fairly good conditions most of the time, but must walk water pumping station grounds to collect data and inspect machinery/equipment. Subject to hazards of noise, operating machines, corrosive and poisonous chemicals, pipes under pressure, low voltage shock, walking, climbing stairs, medium lifting, distinguishing colors related to various tests, and weather conditions.

Job Title: Computer Operations Specialists I

Duties: Monitor, operate, control and set controls on various computer application schedules, multi-programmed and multi-processing computer and peripheral equipment; process/load input and output data; control/secure magnetic tapes; resolve technical/operational problems for internal and external customers; prepare/maintain data files and various records and reports; and maintain materials and supplies.

Associate degree in Computer Operations, Business Data Processing or Computer Science Technology or Associate degree with at least 12 hours college accredited programming/computer courses. Must be able to operate, monitor and control electronic data processing equipment. Must be able to lift boxes of cards, paper, forms, etc. and trays of cards 20 to 50 pounds. Must have an occupationally significant combination of: ability to comprehend and utilize technical operating instructions and equipment manuals; numerical ability; spatial/form perception; clerical perception to accurately file, record, log, etc.; a combination of finger and manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; and the ability to recognize and correct errors in printed copy. Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Works majority of time in computer room; occasionally required to work on loading dock and driving in traffic. Subject to normal hazards associated in computer equipment operations, medium lifting, climbing ramps/pushing carts while transporting computer forms, sitting/standing for long periods of time, stooping and bending, and eye fatigue. Duties: Perform mechanical maintenance/repair work on Division vehicles and heavy equipment in shop and/or field.

Associate degree in Automotive Technology; OR successfully completed Mechanic Apprenticeship program; OR have four (4) current ASE/ FPS certifications; OR four (4) years experience in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of automotive vehicles, or medium duty trucks or heavy equipment. ASE certifications A1-Engine Repair, or T1-Gasoline Engines, or T2-Diesel Engines and A6-Electrical/Electronics Systems or T6-Electrical/Electronic Systems are required, and based on departmental needs the two (2) remaining certifications will be determined from an approved ASE/FPS list.  The approved ASE/FPS list includes: A1-A8; T1-T6, T8; F1; L1; and/or FPS certifications which include Mobile Hydraulic Mechanic, Hydraulic Technician and/or Application/Electronics Specialist. Must obtain a valid Class A Commercial driver’s license from state of residence within trial or probationary period after entering classification.  Must successfully complete Placement (Group 03C “Mechanics”)/Performance Exercises.  Must pass Color Blind I Test.  Must be able to differentiate sounds when making adjustments.

Job Title: Electric System Operator I

Duties: An entry-level job under close supervision to monitor and control the operation of the entire electric system: transmission, distribution, substation, switching, etc. by use of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA); operate the system in a safe and reliable manner; communicate with Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) under normal and emergency conditions; monitor and maintain equipment status, system voltages, system and transmission line megawatt (MW) and megavar (MVAR) loadings, and system frequency in full compliance with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) reliability standards and MLGW processes and procedures.

Associate degree in Electric or Mechanical Engineering Technology OR a minimum of four years of experience in craft/technical field related to the engineering, construction, maintenance or operation of electric transmission, substation or distribution systems. Must have successfully completed Basic Electricity, Operator Placement Test, and Color Blind Test 2. Must successfully complete appropriate Electric System Operator 1 Test and NIMS Training within one year of entering job.
