Job Title: Lineman
Duties: Perform skilled work in the construction and maintenance of electric cable and powerline systems, and adhere to strict safety regulations.

Must have successfully completed approved Lineman Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience and training. Must successfully complete placement/performance exercises. Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License from state of residence.

Exposed to weather, traffic conditions and high voltage; subject to storm or emergency work and the normal hazards of construction work and physical activities such as climbing, walking, standing, bending, stooping, heavy lifting/pulling/pushing.

Job Title: Mechanic

Duties: Perform mechanical maintenance/repair work on Division vehicles and heavy equipment in shop and/or field.

Associate degree in Automotive Technology; or successfully completed Mechanic Apprenticeship program; or have four current ASE/FPS certifications; or four years of experience in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of automotive vehicles, or medium duty trucks or heavy equipment. ASE certifications A1-Engine Repair, or T1-Gasoline Engines, or T2-Diesel Engines and A6-Electrical/Electronics Systems or T6-Electrical/Electronic Systems are required, and based on departmental needs the two remaining certifications will be determined from an approved ASE/FPS list. The approved ASE/FPS list includes: A1-A8; T1-T6, T8; F1; L1; and/or FPS certifications which include Mobile Hydraulic Mechanic, Hydraulic Technician and/or Application/Electronics Specialist. Must obtain a valid Class A Commercial driver’s license from state of residence within trial or probationary period after entering classification. Must successfully complete Placement (Group 03C “Mechanics”)/Performance Exercises. Must pass Color Blind I Test. Must be able to differentiate sounds when making adjustments.

Works inside and outside. Subject to hazards of operating machinery and irritation from oils, solvents, chemicals and fumes. Make service calls in the field. Performs heavy lifting. Subject to climbing, standing/walking for extended periods, and working in uncomfortable positions.

Job Title: Painter, Maintenance

Duties: Prepare surfaces for painting; paint various equipment, structures/buildings; repair windows; hang/repair vinyl wall covering; stripe parking lots; and install tile floors.

Must be able to differentiate mixed/sample colors. Must have knowledge/skills in painting. Must successfully complete Placement (Group 03A “Mechanics”)/Performance Exercises. Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Works inside and outside. Subject to hazards of falling, working in proximity of high voltage electricity, chlorine gas, fluoride acids, steam boilers/pipes under pressure, electrical equipment, operating machinery, traffic, working with rotary power tools, bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, balancing, grasping, standing/walking for long periods of time, heavy lifting and climbing heights to 200 feet.

Job Title: Electronics Instrumentation Technician

Duties: Maintain, test and repair various electrical/electronic testing equipment; perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, optical, chemical and physical testing; design/fabricate test equipment for research and development.

Associate degree in Electrical, Electronic or Telecommunication Engineering Technology or four years of experience in the installation, maintenance, testing and repairing of various electrical and electronic test equipment. Must successfully complete Color Blind I Test. Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence. Must successfully complete Placement (Group 004 “Electronics Technicians”)/ Performance Exercises.

Works in shop majority of time under good conditions. Subject to hazards of medium lifting, high voltage testing, chemicals, climbing ladders, working in uncomfortable positions and standing for extended periods. Occasionally works in proximity of electrical equipment in substations and walk-in/underground vaults.

Job Title: Computer Software Specialist 3

Duties: Apply advanced-level business and information technology system practices and/or project management methodology in analyzing information requirements to determine hardware/software solutions; develop project plans; and implement, develop or maintain enterprise information systems to meet project deliverables.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or Business with a concentration in Information Systems or Math with a concentration in Computer Science or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 hours college accredited Information Technology or Information Systems courses plus four years of Division experience in database, computer hardware/software, mainframe, networking, programming or system analysis skills depending on departmental need. Must meet proficiency requirements. Must have a 3 rating for two consecutive years as a Computer Software Specialist 2 or a 4 rating in last year as a Computer Software Specialist 2. Must have at least one year of demonstrated experience as the primary support person for a particular system or application and at least demonstrated knowledge and skills in one or more of the fields listed below. Experience and knowledge requirements will vary according to area and departmental needs.

Desktop Support: Windows Desktop operating system, Microsoft Office Suite

Database: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server

Interactive Voice Response: Experience with IVR, Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) & Speech Recognition (Directed & Natural Language, e.g. vXML), Computer Telephony Integration (CTI), IVR call flow design and development, & voice user interface design (VUI). Demonstrated ability with Contact Center software such as: Genesys IVR/Contact Center Solutions, Cisco IVR/ Unified Contact Center Solutions, IBM WebSphere Voice Response, Nuance, NICE, Avaya; workforce management software, such as Verint; and audio software tools, such as Audacity, Sound Forge, or VLC

Works inside under good conditions. Subject to sitting for long periods of time at computer terminals, eye fatigue, grasping/reaching for technical manuals/printouts and distinguishing color, and occasional light lifting, bending, stooping/crouching to load computer equipment, paper and carry materials.

Job Title: Energy Engineer 3

Duties: Apply senior-level engineering principles to provide technical and engineering assistance to MLGW’s largest customers, and other internal/external entities regarding energy supply issues; and evaluate the economic impact of implemented recommendations.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Must have four to six years of engineering experience. Must successfully complete NIMS Training within one year of entering job. Must have a valid driver’s license from the state of residence.

Works in office and outside under fairly good conditions. Subject to occasionally working in proximity of construction, climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, medium lifting and walking/standing for long periods of time while making filed inspections.

If there are no qualified bidders for Energy Engineer 3, bidders will be considered for Energy Engineer 2.
