Job Title: Lineman
Duties: Perform skilled work in the construction and maintenance of electric cable and powerline systems, and adhere to strict safety regulations.

Must have successfully completed approved Lineman Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience and training. Must successfully complete placement/performance exercises. Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License from state of residence.

Exposed to weather, traffic conditions and high voltage; subject to storm or emergency work and the normal hazards of construction work and physical activities such as climbing, walking, standing, bending, stooping, heavy lifting/pulling/pushing.

Job Title: Computer Software Specialist 3

Duties: Apply advanced-level business and information technology system practices and/or project management methodology in analyzing information requirements to determine hardware/software solutions; develop project plans; and implement, develop or maintain enterprise information systems to meet project deliverables.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or Business with a concentration in Information Systems or Math with a concentration in Computer Science or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 hours college accredited Information Technology or Information Systems courses plus four years of Division experience in database, computer hardware/software, mainframe, networking, programming or system analysis skills depending on departmental need. Must meet proficiency requirements. Must have a 3 rating for two consecutive years as a Computer Software Specialist 2 or a 4 rating in last year as a Computer Software Specialist 2. Must have at least one year of demonstrated experience as the primary support person for a particular system or application and at least demonstrated knowledge and skills in one or more of the fields listed below. Experience and knowledge requirements will vary according to area and departmental needs.

Desktop Support: Windows Desktop operating system, Microsoft Office Suite

Database: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server

Interactive Voice Response: Experience with IVR, Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) & Speech Recognition (Directed & Natural Language, e.g. vXML), Computer Telephony Integration (CTI), IVR call flow design and development, & voice user interface design (VUI). Demonstrated ability with Contact Center software such as: Genesys IVR/Contact Center Solutions, Cisco IVR/ Unified Contact Center Solutions, IBM WebSphere Voice Response, Nuance, NICE, Avaya; workforce management software, such as Verint; and audio software tools, such as Audacity, Sound Forge, or VLC

Job Title: Work Management Engineer 1

Duties: Under close supervision to apply entry-level engineering principles to the development/maintenance of compatible/macro units which consist of resources such as materials, equipment, manpower and accounting for electric, gas and water distribution systems; provide quality control of the work management system by analyzing, troubleshooting, monitoring/explaining the work management process and its interaction with Division areas.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Must have zero to two years of engineering experience. Must successfully complete NIMS training within one year of entering job. Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Works in office majority of time. Subject to construction hazards while making field inspections.

Job Title: Mechanic

Duties: Perform mechanical maintenance/repair work on Division vehicles and heavy equipment in shop and/or field.

Associate degree in Automotive Technology; or successfully completed Mechanic Apprenticeship program; or have four current ASE/FPS certifications; or four years of experience in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of automotive vehicles, or medium duty trucks or heavy equipment. ASE certifications A1-Engine Repair, or T1-Gasoline Engines, or T2-Diesel Engines and A6-Electrical/Electronics Systems or T6-Electrical/Electronic Systems are required, and based on departmental needs the two remaining certifications will be determined from an approved ASE/FPS list. The approved ASE/FPS list includes: A1-A8; T1-T6, T8; F1; L1; and/or FPS certifications which include Mobile Hydraulic Mechanic, Hydraulic Technician and/or Application/Electronics Specialist. Must obtain a valid Class A Commercial driver’s license from state of residence within trial or probationary period after entering classification. Must successfully complete Placement (Group 03C “Mechanics”)/Performance Exercises. Must pass Color Blind I Test. Must be able to differentiate sounds when making adjustments.

Works inside and outside. Subject to hazards of operating machinery and irritation from oils, solvents, chemicals and fumes. Make service calls in the field. Performs heavy lifting. Subject to climbing, standing/walking for extended periods, and working in uncomfortable positions.

Job Title: Combination Welder

Duties: Cut, fabricate, fit and weld metal pipes using oxyacetylene and electric welding equipment in order to install, maintain and repair gas mains and services.

Must successfully complete Placement (Group 03A “Mechanics”)/Performance Exercises. Must have welder qualifications under API Standard 1104 and Department of Transportation Appendix C. Must have a current Combination Welder Qualification Certification. Must have knowledge/skills in welding, burning and cutting. Must successfully complete Physical Abilities Test (PCMII). Must have a valid Class A Commercial driver’s license from state of residence.

Works outside majority of time. Subject to the hazards of heavy lifting, burns, inclement weather, welding on live gas mains, working in traffic, pushing, pulling, climbing, working in uncomfortable positions and working in the proximity of construction work.

Duties: Provide specifications, instructions and layout designs for installation of electric distribution facilities/street lights; field check voltage complaints/check electric construction for compliance to drawings, specifications, codes and standards.

Job Title: Labor Relations Specialist 2

Duties: Apply intermediate professional level work to provide technical assistance and administrative support in the operations of the Labor and Employee Relations Department, which includes coordinating grievance administrative procedures; representing management in the negotiation/interpretation and administration of collective bargaining agreements; preparing data/facts for mediation/arbitration hearings; and advising/counseling MLGW personnel concerning departmental matters and related activities.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Juris Doctorate degree, or related area. Must have two to four years of professional experience in labor relations. A professional accreditation in Certified Labor Relations Professional (CLRP) Certification or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) preferred with appropriate rating(s). Must have computer software skills in word processing, presentation and spreadsheets. Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.
