Job Title: Lineman
Duties: Perform skilled work in the construction and maintenance of electric cable and powerline systems, and adhere to strict safety regulations.

Must have successfully completed approved Lineman Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience and training. Must successfully complete placement/performance exercises. Must have a valid Class A Commercial driver's license from state of residence.

Exposed to weather, traffic conditions and high voltage; subject to storm or emergency work and the normal hazards of construction work and physical activities such as climbing, walking, standing, bending, stooping, heavy lifting/pulling/pushing.

Candidates accepting Employment with MLGW must live and maintain their residence within the boundaries of Shelby County, Tennessee within six months of their employment date. EOE M/F/D/V

Job Title: Water Laboratory Specialist 1

Duties: Collect water and test water samples; perform microbiological and/or chemical tests; maintain related computerized records; and comply with federal, state, and local rules, regulations and standards on drinking water. 
            
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, General Science or a related field.  Must have knowledge and skills in chemical and/or bacteriological testing included in the drinking water regulations.  Must complete Hazardous Waste Materials Training (29 CFR 1910.120) within 2 years of entering job.  Must be certified annually under the Safe Drinking Water Act, Public Law 93-523, Section 1401.  Must pass the Color Blind 1 test.  Must successfully complete NIMS Training within one year of entering job.  Must have skills in computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, etc.  Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.  Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence.
            
Works inside and outside.  Subject to climbing stairs, hazards of falls, weather, light lifting, working with chemicals, and discriminating colors during testing process.
