MLGW to Host Weaver Gill Fest Celebrating Major Pipeline Upgrade
November 13, 2025

Memphis Light Gas and Water will host Weaver-Gill Fest on Saturday November 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Riverside Missionary Baptist Church at 3590 South Third Street. This free community event celebrates the completion of the Weaver-Gill Pipeline Project, one of the largest natural gas infrastructure improvements completed by the utility in recent years.

The Weaver Gill Pipeline Project involved a $37.4 million investment that replaced two aging, extra-high-pressure natural gas transmission lines, initially installed in 1929 and 1940, with a new 5.4-mile distribution pipeline. Construction began in April 2025 and was completed on schedule in October of the same year. The work strengthened the safety, reliability and long-term performance of the natural gas system that serves customers in Memphis and Shelby County.

Weaver Gill Fest will feature project highlights, a visual showcase of construction phases, brief remarks from MLGW leadership and community partners along with face painting, carnival games, hot dogs, swag bags and more.

Visit mlgw.com/weavergill for more information on the project.
