In response to extremely cold temperatures over the last few days, MLGW activated its Special Reconnect Program to allow customers who are without utility services due to non-payment to have their services reconnected. To help expedite services, MLGW opened its Community Offices on Saturday, January 4 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. to allow customers to make the $225 payment and be reconnected.
On Sunday, January 5, MLGW opened the doors again at its Community Offices at 8:30 a.m., but due to potentially dangerous road conditions and for the concern and safety of our employees and customers, a decision was made to close those offices at 3 p.m.
Our concern first and foremost is for the safety of customers and employees. The Special Reconnect program is a way of protecting our customers from extreme weather conditions while allowing them the flexibility to pay down their debt.
During the two days that the MLGW Community Offices were open, 19 customers (two Saturday and 17 Sunday) took advantage of the Special Reconnect program.
Customers can still take advantage of the program today through Friday, January 10 by visiting one of our community offices located at:
- Downtown Office, 245 South Main Street
- South Community Office, 2935 Lamar Avenue
- North Community Office, 2424 Summer Avenue
- Millington Community Office, 5131 Navy Road
