MLGW infrastructure improvements to affect traffic near S. Third Street & Mitchell Road
August 8, 2025

Work to begin August 11 and last up to two days

As part of MLGW’s ongoing Weaver-Gill Pipeline Project, road and sidewalk closures will begin Monday, August 11 near the intersection of South Third Street and Mitchell Road. The work is expected to last up to two days, with construction scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.

Drivers and pedestrians should expect lane closures along South Third Street near Winchester Road. Portions of the sidewalk at the intersection will also be closed to pedestrian traffic. Detour signage and traffic control measures will guide vehicles and pedestrians safely through or around the work zone.

MLGW is coordinating with the City of Memphis to minimize traffic disruptions. The Weaver-Gill Pipeline Project is part of MLGW’s ongoing effort to upgrade and modernize infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable service for customers. Visit mlgw.com//weavergill for more information.
