MLGW and Food Bank partners again for Mobile Food Pantry
June 26, 2020
Food will be distributed to families affected by COVID-19 on July 2

Memphis Light, Gas and Water will again partner with the Mid-South Food Bank to help families who continue to be affected by COVID-19 by offering a Mobile Food Pantry on July 2 at its Joyce Blackmon Training Center at 4949 Raleigh-LaGrange Rd. MLGW is proud to continue working in the community with the Food Bank, whose mission is to change lives by eliminating hunger in the Mid-South. By providing food for Shelby County families, children and seniors, we help solve one of the biggest struggles they face: getting enough nutritious food to eat to live a healthy life especially during the coronavirus pandemic.
  • When: Thursday, July 2, 2020
  • Where: 4949 Raleigh-Lagrange Rd. Memphis, TN 38128 (MLGW University)
  • Time: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. (while supplies last)

Directions: Families picking up food should please enter via the west entrance off Raleigh-Lagrange and exit on the east side. Cars will line up on the south side of Raleigh-LaGrange leading into the west entrance. This will ensure traffic flows smoothly. MLGW security will be on-site to assist. Food will be distributed while supplies last.

Requirements: All Tennessee household representatives must show a valid ID showing their address or a document, such as utility bill, showing their address. No more than two households per vehicle are allowed. Necessary forms for food pickup will be distributed and must be filled out and collected onsite before proceeding to the distribution area. Clients must remain in the car. Food will be placed in vehicles by MLGW volunteers.

MLGW is the largest three-service public power utility in the nation, serving more than 429,000 customers in Memphis and Shelby County.
