Customer Care Center changing hours; New automated menu offers faster service
March 28, 2008
MLGW's Customer Care Center is adjusting the hours live operators are available to assist customers. Beginning Monday, March 31 the call center will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. The change in time will allow for more customer service representatives to be on duty during peak call times.

"The MLGW Customer Care Center answers more than 50,000 calls per month. Most of the calls come before work, during lunch and after work. By changing our operating hours, we will be able to have more staff available during those peak call times," said Chris Bieber, Vice President of Customer Care for MLGW.

The Customer Care Center number is 544-MLGW. While live operators are available from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m., many transactions can be completed by using the utility's recently upgraded automated menu. Payment arrangements, balance and due date information as well as start, stop or transfer service can now be completed through the easier-to-use automated system 24 hour a days.

Bieber suggests for faster service customers should call during the mid-morning or mid-afternoon hours if possible. When you call, it is also important to have your most recent bill and the last four digits of the customer of record's Social Security number.

The 24-hour automated outage hotline, life threatening emergency number and other MLGW phone numbers are not affected by this change.
