MLGW clearing gas lines in southwest Memphis
November 15, 2016

Residents may smell gas odor Wednesday

Memphis Light, Gas and Water workers are clearing gas mains Wed., Nov. 16 in southwest Memphis. During this process, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., residents and businesses in the neighborhoods bordered by Crump and South Third, Preston and South Parkway and Lucy Avenue and Willie Mitchell Boulevard could smell a strong odor similar to rotten eggs or sulfur as natural gas is released into the air.

There will be no interruptions to natural gas service and no danger or need to leave these areas.
