MLGW Continues Restoration Efforts – Most Customers Should be Restored by Tuesday Evening
June 18, 2023
(June 18, 2023, 6 p.m.) – Memphis Light, Gas and Water crews are making progress restoring power. As of 5:30 p.m., Sunday there are about 15,000 customers without power and 29,000 have been restored. The majority of customers should have power by Tuesday evening unless severe weather returns to our area. As storm restortion continues, work becomes more complex and takes more time. Therefore, full restoration is expected by Wednesday night.

The same weather system that hit Memphis has left 600,000 customers also in the dark across the Midwest and South. Additional storms this evening could slow MLGW’s restoration efforts. MLGW managed to secure an additional 12 crews to help restore power, some from as far away as Tampa, and they will be in place by Monday morning.

MLGW crews are working as quickly as they safely can. Please always call 528-4465 to report emergencies like downed power lines and gas leaks. Use your MLGW My Account or call 544-6500 to report outages. Please report your outage each time – never assume we are already aware of it.

MLGW asks customers to stay away from downed powerlines. They could still be energized and deadly. Warn others to stay away from any downed power lines.

MLGW customers can report power outages and check the status of their outage through My Account or by calling the automated outage number: 544-6500. Customers can also check the online outage map: mlgw.com/outagecenter.
