Crews working to restore power

(February 3, 2022 – 8 p.m.) – Due to inclement weather conditions, Memphis Light, Gas and Water’s Community Offices will be closed on Friday, February 4.

MLGW customers can report outages and get updates on restoration efforts using My Account. Customers can also call MLGW’s automated phone line at 544-6500 to report outages and get updates.

As of late Thursday, almost a third of MLGW’s customers – or about 132,000 customers –
are without power. Fifty MLGW crews, contract crews and tree trimmers are working to restore power.

MLGW asks that customers delay calling the utility’s Call Center with billing and account questions. All agents are fielding emergency calls only. Call center hours also are extended.

Important MLGW contact information for customers:

•  Electric Outage Reporting: 544-6500
•  Emergencies: 528-4465 (for electrical lines down, gas leaks, broken water mains inside a building)
•  Customer Care Center: 544-6549
•  Online Outage Center:

The City of Memphis opened a warming center late Wednesday at the Hickory Hill Center, 3910 Ridgeway Road. Anyone who needs transportation to the Center should call the Office of Emergency Management at 297-1680.

MLGW is the largest three-service public power utility in the nation, serving more than 437,000 customers in Memphis and Shelby County.
