The TVA/MLGW In-Home Energy Evaluation Program wil be ending May 31, 2013. A new program, eScore, will launch in July.
Memphis Light, Gas and Water and TVA are making it easier than ever to improve your home's energy efficiency while also saving money on your utility bill. With the new In-Home Energy Evaluation Program, you can reduce your energy usage and receive a cash incentive for installing certain home energy improvements.
Here's how it works:

Other Energy Improvement Measures:
Your In-Home Energy Evaluation report may include other recommendations which are not eligible for TVA cash incentives (see partial list below). These improvements provide energy savings and other benefits, so they still should be considered for overall efficiency to reduce your utility bill. In addition, some of these items may be eligible for Federal tax credits.
Find a Contractor:
Access TVA's Trade Ally Network website to find contractors participating in the In-Home Energy Evaluation program.
Contractor Participation:

Once TVA has approved your application and notified MLGW, your company's information will appear online for customers seeking In-Home Energy Evaluation contractors in MLGW's service territory.

With the new In-Home Energy Evaluation Program, you can reduce your energy usage and receive a cash incentive for installing certain home energy improvements.
Here's how it works:
-
Call 1-866-441-1430, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., to arrange for an In-Home Energy Evaluation by a TVA-certified Evaluator.
-Morning and afternoon appointments are available Monday through Friday, with limited Saturday appointments.
-The house must be at least one year old; new construction is not eligible.
-If rental property, the landlord and tenant must both sign the Participation Agreement at the time of the Evaluation.
-
The TVA-certified Evaluator will spend 1 to 5 hours reviewing your home (depending on your home's size), creating a report identifying needed energy-efficiency improvements and available TVA cash incentives. (Evaluators will drive marked vehicles and carry program identification.)
-
Improvements must be made by a member of the TVA Quality Contractor Network to qualify for cash incentives, except for items noted by the Evaluator as do-it-yourself projects. The Evaluator will provide the names of qualified contractors who work in Memphis and Shelby County so you can obtain bids and select the contractor(s) who best meets your needs. Contractor payment is the responsibility of the customer.
-
To qualify for cash incentives, the recommended improvement(s) must be completed within 90 days of the Evaluator's visit. However, a customer may request an extension if necessary.
-
Once the work is finished, submit the paperwork for review and to schedule the free, follow-up inspection by the Evaluator to ensure that everything is installed properly to maximize your energy savings.
Financial Incentives:
-
The cash incentive is up to 50% of each improvement's cost, with a maximum amount per energy measure. (See table below.) No matter how many improvements are made, $500 is the total maximum reimbursable amount for all work done at each address..
-
Provided you make at least $150 in eligible improvements, you also will receive a refund for the initial cost of the Evaluation.
