Cheryl W. Patterson, Vice President and General Counsel, is responsible for advising the Memphis Light, Gas and Water Board of Commissioners and MLGW staff concerning all legal obligations and privileges, as well as performing other legal services for the Division.
Patterson served as a partner in the legal firm of Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP and a member of the firm's Financial Institutions & Public Finance Service Team. She is a graduate of Wellesley College and a 1984 graduate of Harvard Law School. She is a member of the American Bar Association and licensed to practice law in Tennessee and Pennsylvania.
In civic affairs, she was a member of the 1998 class of Leadership Memphis and is a member of the Depot Redevelopment Corporation of Memphis and Shelby County, the Shelby Farms Park Alliance and the Tennessee Heritage Conservation Trust Fund.
