The Media Relations area is part of the Communications and Public Relations department at MLGW. The Media Relations team wants to ensure that members of the media can reach us at any time for information relating to a story. During business hours (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.), you can call us at (901) 528-4557. After hours, members of the media can call (901) 213-1309 to reach the on-call media representative. The media can also e-mail a question or request to media@mlgw.org. Note: e-mailed requests received overnight may not be answered until the next day.
The media relations area is unable to assist with customer service inquiries. Customers should call (901) 544-MLGW (6549) with customer service questions or (901) 544-6500 to report and electric outage.

MLGW launches MLGW Mobile Alerts program
Memphis Light, Gas and Water customers can now receive text message mobile notification of billing due dates and possible impending cut-offs. Customers can register for the program at www.mlgw.com/mobilealerts.
MLGW receives $5 million federal grant to begin Smart Grid upgrades
Memphis Light, Gas and Water has received a federal grant to install a communication and control system in the electric grid serving the downtown and medical district areas. The system will enhance reliability in the area by giving MLGW additional insight into potential electric grid problems before outages occur and allow significantly improved analysis to design and troubleshoot the system.
